... and Manufacture
Our furniture is made by highly skilled cabinetmakers working in our well-equipped
workshop. Each maker has his own set of traditional handtools as well
as full use and knowledge of the extensive range of machinery in the workshop.
A maker sees the project through from start to finish, from selection
of timber and veneers, through jig making, veneer cutting and construction.
We work closely with specialist sub-contractors for the best quality carving,
turning, gilding, upholstery, metal and leatherwork, French polishing
and lacquering. Great pride is taken by all to produce an immaculately
finished piece.
The
finished piece is carefully wrapped, transported to your door and installed
in place by us. In the case of kitchens and other fitted furniture, installation
may take several days. Our specialist fitters may need to scribe cabinets
to the walls and floors to ensure a perfect fit. They also understand
the importance of working sucessfully with other services such as plumbers
and electricians so that the whole project comes together beautifully.
Wardour Workshops has gained an enviable reputation within the furniture
industry for its high standards and manufacturing capabilities. This means
that as well as private individuals, we list many architects and other
furniture designers amongst our clients.
