Commissions for Private Clients

Commissioning a piece of furniture is a straightforward and enjoyable process. The first step is to meet, either at our workshop or in your home, so we can glean as much information from you as possible - the form and function of the piece, its dimensions and proportions, its intended environment, and the style and feel you're looking for - and discuss all the options. After that, we will produce preliminary designs, samples of materials and a quotation for the cost of making.

Once the design is agreed, we produce final working drawings and set a delivery date. Then, when the project is under way, you are welcome to visit the workshop by appointment to see your piece of furniture being made.

The finished piece is carefully wrapped, transported and installed by us. In the case of kitchens and other fitted furniture, installation may take several days. Our specialist fitters may need to scribe cabinets to the walls and floors to ensure a perfect fit. They also understand the importance of working with other services such as plumbers and electricians so that the whole project comes together smoothly.

Whether the commission is a small free-standing piece or a large fitted kitchen, we like to keep our clients happy. That's why many of them return to us again and again.
